The U.S. is imposing tariffs as high as 245% on Chinese imports due to national security concerns and China’s retaliatory actions, including rare earth export restrictions.
These tariffs include a 125% reciprocal duty, 20% related to the fentanyl crisis, and up to 100% under Section 301.
In response, China raised tariffs on U.S. goods to 125% and limited rare earth exports.
China was the U.S.’s third-largest trading partner in 2024, with major trade in electronics, machinery, and resources.
