On April 29, President Donald Trump is set to sign an order offering temporary relief from his 25% vehicle tariffs to automakers producing in the U.S., allowing time to reconfigure supply chains.
The relief includes credits for up to 15% of a vehicle’s value to offset the cost of imported parts and exempts vehicles from overlapping tariffs on Canadian, Mexican, and other foreign goods.
The move, timed with Trump’s visit to Michigan marking his first 100 days in office, is aimed at softening the economic impact of the tariffs.
