President Trump announced that starting April 2nd, any country buying oil and gas from Venezuela will face a 25% tariff on trade with the U.S.
After the announcement, U.S. crude rose by 1.13% to $69.05 per barrel, and Brent increased by 1.01% to $72.89.
Trump accused Venezuela of sending members of the Tren de Aragua gang, which the Trump administration designates as a foreign terrorist organization.
